The new Clean & Strip discs are part of the Scotch Brite range from 3M.
This means that the Clean & Strip discs are built up of an open web of fibres that are provided with abrasive grains. The open structure ensures that the disc does not become clogged and therefore has a long service life.
The renewed Clean & Strip discs come in two versions, each with their own unique characteristics.
3M Scotch Brite Clean & Strip XT Pro
The XT Pro is a purple disc and contains a silicon carbide grain. The characteristic of silicon carbide is that it is an extremely sharp, hard but also brittle grain that breaks easily. The grain requires little pressure to perform and is therefore very suitable for heat-sensitive materials. In combination with the unique web structure, this results in a durable disc that does not damage the base material during operation.
By far the best drum for removing mill scale. No disc does this as quickly and has such a long service life as the XT Pro Clean & Strip.
Also suitable for removing rust, paint, coatings, etc.
Does not affect the base material.
Low sparking and heat input.

3M Scotch Brite Clean & Strip XT Pro Extra Cut
The XT Pro Extra Cut is a green disc and contains an aluminium oxide grain. The characteristic of aluminium oxide is that it is fairly hard and wear-resistant. It is a fairly universal grit that can be used in a wide range of applications.
The green XT Pro Extra Cut is suitable for removing heavy rust and rust pits without eroding the parent material.
Also suitable for removing thick layers of paint and coatings.
Fast blending, stripping and refining to bare metal.

3M Scotch Brite Clean & Strip XT Pro Extra Cut for removing thick layers of paint, varnish or coatings.
Although both discs look robust and aggressive, the XT Pro discs always leave an even and consistent finish without distorting the base material.
This makes them ideal discs for preparing subsequent treatments such as coating.
The very strong fibres are made for heavy work and can also be used in corners and edges. They crumble less and therefore have a long life.
Finally, the flexibility of the disc provides a large contact surface with the material. This ensures that you can work quickly and comfortably.
