3M launches a new lamella disc, the quality 769F. This lamella disc is equipped with a durable polyester backing and contains abrasive grit produced with the 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology, for a long life and faster work.
The 3M 769F Lamella discs are specially designed for use on heat sensitive alloys such as stainless steel and carbon steel. Because the abrasive grain of the lamella disc is made with the Precision Shaped Grain technology known from CubitronII quality, the triangular grain cuts through the metal. This is in contrast to the conventional alumina zirconium abrasive grain, which ploughs through the metal much more and thus also brings in much more heat.
Two properties that are very important for the final performance of a lamella disc:
A good ratio between grain breakage and linen wear ensures optimum performance of the lamella disc in terms of cutting speed and service life.
The new lamella disc is made for application in various industries such as sheet metal, machine builders, piping and tanks and foodindustry. But also in the heavier industries such as shipbuilding, automotive and construction the lamella disc will perform.
The disc has a polyester back. This improves the durability of the disc and, together with the formability of the disc, makes it suitable for high-pressure applications such as chamfering, grinding welds and deburring edges.
Because in addition to PSG grains, conventional sanding grains are also used, this lamella disc gives a strikingly beautiful finish. This enables you to grind and finish in just one step.
This makes this grinding wheel also very suitable for applications such as blending, finishing and preparation of surfaces. In many cases, the 3M™ Flap Disc 769F allows you to perform grinding and finishing operations in a single step, without changing the abrasive. This is possible because under normal conditions the 769F generates a finish that is a level finer than the finish of a fibre disc of the same coarseness. Although a fibre disc will cut faster, this lamellar disc allows you to skip steps and eliminates the need to change discs, saving you time and increasing productivity. They are ideal for use on carbon steel, stainless steel and other heat-sensitive alloys.
The blade disc is available in three sizes: 115 x 22 mm, 125 x 22 mm and the 180 x 22 mm.
All dimensions are available in a flat or conical version and available in 40+, 60+, 80+ and 120+ granules.
All part numbers, pack size and recommended Rpm can be found in the (English) leaflet. Or go directly to our webshop.
Rounding often takes its toll on most lamella discs. But the new 3M™ Slat Washer 769F is up to the challenge. The polyester backing is well suited for high-pressure jobs. Thanks to 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology, it effortlessly passes through metal without overheating or becoming blunt. The result is a perfectly beveled edge that's ready for welding.
After you have cut something, there are often sharp metal burrs on the edges. Now you can quickly deburr them without damaging the rest. Thanks to the 3M Precision Shaped Grain Technology in the 3M™ Blade Disc 769F, you can remove metal burrs and sharp edges with ease. Then you can quickly move on to the next step.
To grind a weld seam with a lamellar disc, you need the right combination of mineral and backing. Then you are chiselled with the 3M™ Flap Disc 769F. Thanks to 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology, you can sharpen quickly and for a long time, as new sharp points form. The back wears evenly, so you can keep sharpening with new and sharp mineral.
