Below we place PostNL's text on additional measures regarding the delivery of parcels. Please read this text carefully and ensure communication to the relevant persons in your organisation. Today, March 17th, we have already received parcels back because the recipient could not show ID. Together we keep the Netherlands liveable and workable, let's cooperate in everyone's interest!
Dear client,
Now that the cabinet has announced additional measures against the spread of the coronavirus, there are more questions about the delivery of mail and parcels. The virus cannot be transmitted via mail or parcels. We therefore still deliver mail and parcels as you would expect from us. To prevent the spread of the virus, we do take extra measures. The health and safety of our employees, customers and partners are of paramount importance. In this message you can read more about the measures.
Delivery of mail and parcels
From Monday, March 16, our deliveryman will sign for receipt after permission of the recipient. We do this to minimize contact between people. We ask the recipient for the last 3 digits of the proof of identity and write this down in the signature field. Good to inform your customers about this via your own website. Please have your ID ready/at hand as our parcels with signature will be sent for receipt.
Closure of your business location
If, as a precaution, you close your location and use the pick-up or drop-off service, please let us know. Then we will look for a solution together. Do you want to cancel the pick-up service? You can easily cancel it via My PostNL.
