The new Scotch Brite disc from 3M contains the well-known PSG grit and therefore have an unprecedented removal rate.
Scotch Brite is familiar from its rolls, hand sheets, belts and discs. The flexible open web material is impregnated with an abrasive grain, creating a three-dimensional abrasive product. The open structure ensures that the material does not fill up quickly, reduces the risk of discoloration of the base material. The end result is consistent and reproducible, an important feature!
Scotch Brite discs are now available in a new quality with PSG grit!
The web contains the well-known PSG grain. Precision Shaped Grain is also often called Cubitron and stands for precisely shaped triangular abrasive minerals. These guarantee fast and long-lasting material removal.
Not only has the grain been updated in the Scotch Brite discs, a new grade has been added: Extra Coarse. Developed with versatility in mind, this Extra Coarse disc can even replace a fiber or lamellar disc (P150 and finer). This means that a step in the grinding process can often be reduced. This then provides immediate cost savings in hours. The result is a better surface, without grooves, scratches or chipping of the base material.
The Scotch Brite PSCD is available in a variety of sizes and designs:
