3M™ Cubitron™ II Abrasives - Faster work, longer life, less heat input, less particulate matter!
The CubitronII grit cuts through the metal. And cutting creates chips much more than dust. Swarf is a larger particle than dust. It is therefore heavier and falls to the ground more quickly. But it can't penetrate deep into the lungs either, the particles are too big for that. And because you also work faster, you are exposed to fine dust for a shorter period of time. The secret lies in the patented triangular shape of the ceramic grain. The grains are vertically oriented in the direction of the workpiece. In this way, the grain cuts, as it were, deep into the metal. This guarantees rapid reduction and little heat generation. Because the minerals break down over and over again, the triangular shape is retained and the grain continues to do its work. The tool life is therefore also many times longer than you are used to from a standard mineral.
The 3M™ 982C Cubitron™ II fibre discs have been specially developed for machining steel and are particularly suitable for the most demanding applications such as removing welds, making melting baths and chamfering before welding. They are used in foundries, shipbuilding, welding and construction companies, metal construction etc...
The 3M™ 987C Cubitron II fibre disc is ideally suited for applications on heat sensitive metals such as stainless steel, aluminium and nickel alloys. The 3M 987C fibre disc penetrates deeper into the metal and cuts very consistently and quickly through the toughest metals throughout its service life. Available in 3 different diameters: 115, 125 and 178 mm

Why a 36+, 60+, 80+ coarse?
Due to the unique shape and positioning of the sanding minerals in the new 3M™ Cubitron™ II Technology, the coarseness cannot be determined by the traditional methods within the FEPA standards. 3M has opted for the indication of a "+" sign to indicate that the aggressiveness of this mineral groove is comparable to a wider range of grooves.
The 3M Roloc™ system offers a wide range of different abrasives that can be changed and kept in place with a simple quarter turn, without the use of tools. Specially developed accessories ensure optimum performance - the hardness of the backing pad can affect the required pressure and cutting force. Choose from 3M backing pads in various diameters and the specially developed range of abrasives for the right degree of aggression or comfort for your applications.

3M 984F Cubitron™ II Roloc™ fibre discs are excellent for machining, deburring and finishing virtually all types of metal. The triangular-calibrated abrasive mineral in combination with grinding aid ensures less heat generation and at the same time continuous cutting with less force.
Experience the power of the 3M™ Precision Shaped Grain in a versatile lamella disc with a high service life. This new 3M™ Cubitron™ II Slat Washer 967A allows you to perform a wide variety of jobs, but is particularly suitable for deburring jobs. Grinding and finishing in one step! They cut with less pressure for more operator comfort. And all this in a shorter time frame. Cubitron II Flap Discs are flexible - easily follow the contours of the workpiece - and are equipped with Grinding Aid, a grinding aid for cooler grinding.

In 2016, the CubitronII deflashing disc was upgraded, with a service life up to 20% longer than its predecessor. Due to this high tool life, the speed at which the deflashing discs operate and the low pressure, it is up to three times lower than conventional discs. When deburring, you can remove more material in less time and continue for longer. That's efficient work!
The CubitronII deflashing disc is less tiring for the user due to the lower pressure required and less disc vibration, and of course it is faster to finish because of the rapid removal of the disc.
The spectrum of sanding belts in CubitronII quality has grown significantly in 2017. Do you want heavy machining or light grinding? Whether you want to machine cast iron, steel, stainless steel or aluminium, there is a suitable belt for every application. Do you want to apply a lot of pressure or not? Do you want a rigid back or flexible? Working wet or dry?
Some belts are equipped with a so-called "Grinding aid", an aid against heat input, for example.
