The success story of the family business in Engelskirchen, which has now been running for 80 years, begins in the 1930s. In 1937 the brothers Edmund and Willi Lukas discovered their "Bergisch" pioneering and entrepreneurial spirit - with extremely simple machines the two brothers initially produced drills for all kinds of applications on the upper floor of their own car garage. Soon the story of the two brothers' talent and the high quality of their products circulates in the 'Oberbergische'. Piece by piece, the product portfolio is being expanded - first with burrs, grinding discs and mounted points.
The latest and most important milestone in the almost 80-year history of the company is the acquisition and integration of Schleifscheibenfabrik Rottluff GmbH in Chemnitz in 2011.

In steel, container and equipment construction, the machining of radii and corner welds has been a particular challenge until now. With the LUKAS system SLTflex, we have developed a special, sector-specific solution that optimises your processes qualitatively and economically. The SLTflex is a tool that combines the advantages of the fibre disc and the grinding disc. This makes it the optimum tool solution for machining corners and edges. Characteristic for the SLTflex are the extremely long tool life, the great flexibility due to the very wide blade overhang and the simple, fast tool change without a clamping nut! The different diameters (Ø 100, 115, 125 and 178 mm with M14 threaded connection) can be adapted to the respective application.
The hard work during welding and the subsequent processing of the welds requires efficient and, above all, fast tools. LUKAS supplies unique flap or impeller grinding discs for this purpose. A robust steel holder, combined with a unique, patented grinding pad and a ceramic abrasive grit ensure exceptional stock removal results and an enormously long tool life. This impeller grinding disc is called SLTT and is available in three qualities and four diameters (115, 125, 150 and 178 mm) for almost all machining operations.
Trimming router, or reverse radius router from Lukas, the LUHFS1410.08R3 works super easy, clean, accurate and fast. Use this radius cutter in combination with a Dotco machine 12L2082-01 with an attachment DT14-2300.
