How it all started at Dynabrade

Dynabrade started in 1969 with one inspired idea. Walter Welsch, the founder of Dynabrade, developed the first Dynafile® belt sander as a method to sand metal and other hard surfaces by hand. This machine makes the process faster and easier than ever before. Thanks to this innovative, entrepreneurial spirit, Dynabrade thrives to this day. Product upgrades are constantly taking place, quality is constantly being further developed on the basis of extensive research and on the basis of market needs and new technological developments in the tool and sanding industries.

The idea for the Dynafile of Dynabrade founder Walter Welsch:  

Wurlitzer, the world famous jukebox manufacturer, was one of my accounts. During a visit to Wurlitzer I saw a lady making square holes in an aluminium casting that was used as a jukebox grate. The idea came to me that a portable sanding belt running over a 5/8" diameter contact wheel could make these holes much faster. That moment was the beginning of the Dynafile® and the real start of Dynabrade, Inc.

Belt sander

• Of course the Dynafile which is fine-tuned and improved every time, the belt sander where it all started. Eccentric rotary sanding

• A household name when it comes to eccentric rotary sanding is the Spirit. This ergonomically shaped palm sander sits comfortably in the hand, is lightweight and has an excellent noise level, quieter than many other eccentric rotary machines. This sander with model number DY59029H features a hookit pad with 7 holes for perfect dust extraction. The special drop-in motor makes it easy to replace the motor yourself in case of emergency.
