DFND stands for Designed for Necessary Defence. Quality dust masks with a high wearing comfort at a very competitive price!
The DFND® maintenance-free, non-reusable masks are comfortable to wear and easy to use under all conditions. DFND® FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 dust masks provide the right protection for professional users against dust, fumes, odors and mists that can be released during work. All DFND products comply with the necessary regulations and standards according to the EN149:2001 standard. If you want to create a safe working environment, DFND® dust masks are the right choice.

FFP1 dust masks offer protection against low concentrations of water and oil-based mists that can be released during activities such as spraying or cleaning. Even at low concentrations of inert dust consisting of, for example, calcium carbonate, concrete, cement or soft wood that can be released during manual cutting, polishing or drilling activities, a P1 mask is sufficient.
FFP2 dust masks offer protection against moderate concentrations of water and oil-based mists that may be released during activities such as spraying or cleaning, as well as against moderate concentrations of harmful dust consisting of, for example, glass fibre, quartz, hard wood, hard metals or cement that may be released during activities such as (automatic) cutting, sawing, blasting, drilling, polishing, liming, plastering or cementing.
FFP2 dust masks with an extra carbon layer (marked with a C) offer better protection against irritating odours that can occur during activities such as spraying, welding (ozone and metal vapours), galvanising and aluminium machining, which release gases of acids.
FFP3 dust masks offer protection against higher concentrations of water and oil-based mists that may be released during activities such as mixing powders (e.g. in pharmacy) or other industrial processes, as well as against higher concentrations of harmful dusts consisting for example of fibres and hard metals such as lead, chromium and nickel.
Depending on the application needs, FFP1, FFP2 or FFP3 dust masks can be used. FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 masks have Assigned Protection Factors (APF) of 4, 10 and 20, respectively, where APF represents the level of respiratory protection based on the particulate concentration that can realistically be expected in the work environment. The concentration of particles in the air must not exceed 4 times the Treshold Limit Value (TLV) or Maximum Acceptable Concentration (MAC) when using FFP1 masks. For FFP2 and FFP3 masks this is 10 times and 20 times respectively. If DFND® dust masks are used according to the instruction manual and the face seal test has been successful, exposure to particulate matter will be reduced by a factor of 4 when using DFND® FFP1 and a factor of 10 and 20 when using DFND® FFP2 and FFP3 masks respectively.
